07 What is summer without a splash? Capture one. A relatively dark background to pop out the water helps. So does a slow shutter speed, something below 1/60—and lots of patience and clicking.

Try it, then let me know. If you have questions, send me an email.

What a superb photo. Bravo!

What a fun, and refreshing looking photo!

Happy WW :)

Short depth of field helps with getting the water to pop too! Very nice job! I could have used a splash of that last week when we hit triple digits here!

That is a great shot -- I don't have the patience for shots like that!

Beautiful. I spent way too much of my summer trying to capture the splash and airtime as my kids jumped in the pond. Got quite a few though I never analyzed how I did it--I am afraid I use auto on my digi cam. :)

amazing photo! u sure look like a PRO in photography!!! mine's up too!

Oh, wow! That's SO COOL!

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL very fun shot :)

It is so hot here today I wish I were in there with him! How did you keep your camera dry? What focal length did you use? ISO? f-stop? shutter speed?

Great shot...Happy WW.

Beautiful summer shot - I love this series. You'd probably like my WW today -- Wisconsin Loons.
